Herbie's Lemon Myrtle Leaf Ground, 25g. Dried lemon myrtle leaves (Backhousia citriodora) milled to a powder. A product of Australia.
Lemon myrtle has a lemongrass-like flavour and an aroma of lemon verbena. Herbie's suggest using it sparingly, about half a teaspoon to 500g of meat, vegetables or carbohydrates, and adding it towards the end of cooking, since more than about 30 minutes on the heat softens the lemon notes. It stands in for lemongrass in stir-fries and curries, and also works with seafood, chicken and desserts. Packed in a resealable zip-seal pouch.
