    SKU: UHPAW240

    Manuka Honey
Active Manuka honey is sourced from the flowering plant species of Leptospermum that are native to Australia and New Zealand. The indigenous people from both lands have been using Manuka in their traditional medicines for centuries.

Manuka honey contains a heightened stable form of natural antibacterial activity often known as Non-Peroxide Activity (NPA). Such intensified antimicrobial activity can be quantified using a range of testing methods.

Considerable research has been undertaken to determine the cause of this activity, with it recently being attributable to the naturally occurring chemical Methylglyoxal (MGO). Manuka honey can contain more than 70 times the level of MGO found in normal honeys.

Today, following extensive clinical testing in Australia, New Zealand and other countries, the unique value of Manuka has been recognised worldwide.

    Jarrah Honey
Like Manuka, Jarrah too has heightened active properties. This quality is measured by the term of ÔTotal ActivityÕ (TA).

Super Honey Ð unique to Australia
Jarrah trees (Eucalyptus marginata), unique to Western Australia, are a large forest tree predominantly found in the stateÕs southwest, from north of Perth to as far south as Albany.

The Jarrah tree is a slow growing Eucalyptus that can grow up to 40 metres in height and can live up to 1000 years. Jarrah trees only flower every two years, usually from December through to January in the early summer, and when in bloom are magnificently covered in beautiful creamy flowers.

Jarrah produces a deliciously dark and thick honey with an aftertaste likened to an unsweetened caramel. This honey is not as sweet as other honeys due to its low glucose and high fructose levels and for this reason pure Jarrah honey does not candy.

EDEN HEALTHFOODS Bee Pollen Raw & Unprocessed 180g (Not for WA)

    0 out of 5
    (0)
    SKU: UWEN15

Eden Bee Pollen is collected by bees from the blooms of Western Australian Jarrah trees and native wild flowers. Bee pollen is a fine dust from the anthers of flowers. As the bees travel from flower to flower they collect nectar and pollen to take back to the hive. As the bees enter the hive, the surplus pollen is gently removed and falls into a collection tray.

Bee pollen is rich in fatty acids, vitamins, amino acids, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, minerals, enzymes and other micronutrients. The pristine and unique flora of WA contributes to the bright yellow colour and the wonderful taste and texture. It can be sprinkled over foods (think salads/muesli/yogurt); added to smoothies or incorporated in your home-made protein bars or raw desserts. How Is Bee Pollen Collected?

Worker bees collect more pollen than the hive needs, so bee keepers are able to collect the surplus in a mesh trap. As the bees enter a hive, they pass through a bank of specific sized holes where the pollen is gently removed and falls into a collection tray. The quality and safety of West Australian bee pollen is second to none.

One teaspoon of pollen takes one bee working eight hours a day for one month to gather. Each bee pollen pellet contains over two million flower pollen grains and one teaspoonful contains over 2.5 billion grains of flower pollen.

    (0)

AMBROSIA HONEY – Raw Organic Honey 1kg

    0 out of 5
    (0)

Raw honey is the closest you’ll get to eating honey straight from the hive. Organic honey is produced in unpolluted rural areas, away from orchards, flowering agricultural crops and other potential contaminants. No chemicals or drugs are used on the bees or to assist in production.

To retain the health benefits and flavour, no heat has been applied at any stage of production. Honey varies in consistency, taste and colour depending on what flowers the bees foraged from. This honey crystallizes readily.

Raw honey has enzymes that help you digest carbohydrates.
